A Writing Coach is like any other type of coach – a qualified professional who provides her clients with feedback, support, and motivation. With a Master’s degree in English and over ten years of teaching and professional writing experience, I consider myself highly qualified to be your coach.
As your writing coach, I will read your work and pinpoint areas of strength and weakness. We will discuss strategies for developing your material, organizing your text, and strengthening your writing style. It is my philosophy that writers are their own best editors when given the proper direction.
You will receive feedback from me via email and telephone conversations. I would be delighted to talk to you about your writing projects, and to answer any questions you might have.
If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area and would like one-on-one tutoring, I can tutor you at my home in Castro Valley, California. I have years of experience working with elementary, middle school, high school and community college students. I have helped many students prepare to take the SAT or to write essays for their college applications. Each lesson will be tailored to your individual needs. I have grammar books, short story and poetry anthologies, and critical thinking textbooks that I can use to supplement your own homework (if desired). These can be easily ordered online and used as our texts.
